Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Seem to be different options.

1: rent but not getting assurance that the rig will work with say wanted

2: run something off your own compressor, probably need a 200 L 10 bar unit

    3: buy self contained unit

2 seems to make most sense as compressor would have other uses

On subject of compressors, any suggestions

    different ideas,

200 litre belt or direct drive

    smaller unit plus external tank

    ?

I have a stand alone one that I just did the back wall of my house with. Its decent enough but you do have to thin the paint a bit to stop it clogging the nozzles. I found the sweet spot is around 80% paint to 20% water - doesnt make a difference to the coverage or finish at that ratio.

Youre welcome to borrow it if youre close to me (Kildare) as I wont be needing it again until next summer.

Had my 4 bed house painted recently. Painter used a roller and brush . Gave it 2 coats and was done in 4 days. There wasn't a speck of paint on the ground.

A guy with a sprayer was quoting me 5 days at twice the price.

Thats scary - I did the whole back of the house in about 4 hours with the sprayer on the hottest day we had back in June.

Id say an hour or more of of that was masking off the windows.

Second coat only took an hour as I had all the prep work already done and f**king about with the ratios of paint to water. Id say if I had the sprayer dialed in right I could have done the lot in about 2 hours total with a couple of hours in between coats. My walls are dashed and I reckon with a brush and roller Id still be at it!!!

My guy worked from 8.30 to 4.30. no holding him back unless I started talking to him. I learnt that one quickly.

He also had sheds and a roadside wall to do, so wasn't just the bungalow.
