Will a Sky Mobile SIM work in a Vodafone locked router?

I'm thinking of picking up a Sky mobile SIM to test out it's internet speeds.

Will a Sky mobile SIM (a Vodafone MVNO) work in a Vodafone locked router?

I'm thinking of getting a Huawei b818 Vodafone locked router for this purpose or can anyone recommend anything better please?

    Thanks!

Prob not as MNC is different, 27 vs 01. Postmobile has same as VF

    Thanks for that, appreciate it!

I don't suppose you have any recommendations for a 4G router that would work with the Sky SIM for about €50 or so? Obviously be looking at second hand for that budget.

I have an unlocked Huawei B525 I think it is, but getting a bit dated now!

Here's another TP Link option with better reviews

I still use a couple of B535 routers, they look a bit dated but work excellently on 4G

Two devices linked above seem dated (badly), potentially LTE CAT4 or 5 , both manufacturers conveniently do not disclose that info in their specifications. Ethernet ports 100Mbps only, WiFi 802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz only , one word - junk

Comparison to Huawei B593, which was great, back in 2010-2015

Those will work perhaps, but in 2024 LTE CAT goes up to 22, Ethernet 1GB+ and WiFi 5, 6, 7

Thank you, that's really helpful, those look like great budget options. Appreciate you taking out the time to search for me

    Good to hear, thank you!

That really good info to know, thank you.

I've ordered a Huawei B818 from CEX - how does that stack up?

B818 - LTE CAT19, 4G only. Using one myself and happy with it. If its "unlocked" might work with Sky SIM.
