Puretelecom huawie modem

Hi i was looking at switching back to pure and they told me they don't do the fritz box 7539 anymore they have upgraded to the huawie 8245x6-10, it has better range apparently. I was used to the nas function on the fritz. Anyone know if this new modem is any good?

The Eir F2000 is a Huawei, so I can't see it being better than the Fritz.

I remember it being mentioned in a thread that they are now offering a new Huawei router that is Wifi6 capable but can't find the comment.

I recently signed up with Pure and they sent me out a Huawei. I sent it back and am using my own ubiquiti edgerouter instead.

They sent me out another router the other day as the fibre in the area was down and they thought a new router would sort it, this was a Zyxel

Lg8245x6 is the model number, connected it up and turned it on last April I haven't had to touch it since, top class service from Pure I'm very impressed with them tbh. Bills are spot on every month, the bill is issued at the beginning of the month and the money taken around the 20th. If they offer me a half decent deal next year I'll stay with them.

Doesn't look a bit like my router. Does the fibre connect to that one directly? With openeir the ont is a separate device and the router I have is connected using a network cable to it.

And how did you find the Zyxel? What model was it, btw?

I was in contact with them recently about switching and their sales guy said that they were using the Zyxel now instead of the Fritzbox for full fibre, but he didn't know specifically which one.

Would like to know more before I decide, as having the wrong (or right) hardware can make such a big difference to your ongoing service quality; and as I've been down that road previously, I'd much prefer to avoid it this time if at all possible.

Certainly has the appearance of such. At least where Huawei being compared to/replacing the Fritzbox is concerned anyway; Fritzbox as a brand seems to generally be considered as far superior - and the 7530 is a very reliable piece of kit by all accounts.

Very curious to hear about what your digging around unearths, as I'm currently considering switching over to Pure myself.

Jesus lads, what type of network are you running? The fritzbox 7530 doesn't have WiFi 6 that's why they aren't using it anymore. If you're that much into having a top of the range network you should be using your own router at this stage, the beauty of ftth is that you can do that as the modeming is already done.

Depends on which version you're supplied with I suppose, Digiweb use one and it's WiFi 6 capable:

That's the one, I don't know what pots ports are and the USB port doesn't do anything which is a pity, they must have it disabled with their gui.

I was using the nas function on the fritz box, connecting some storage and using it as a media server. That tech sheet mentions plug and play AV media server ...do you know if this modem can do that?
