Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi I ordered used bike parts from a "reputable"(or so i thought) bike reseller in Slovakia via Paypal 23rd August.

    no invoice recieved either.

    items were 144€ in value.

normal shippping should take 7 business days + a few days for any additional customs checks etc but this is ridiculous.

I was issued the tracking number but the items have not been updated on slovak tracker since 28th August.

I also checked an post tracking and nothing there also.

So in essence this week it will be 4 weeks since they were shipped but nothing as yet to hand.

Seller claims that as I opted for cheaper shipping - 20 euro for 1kg weight of a package(not the cheapest imho) as other option was 45 euro DPD,basically saying tough luck and accepts no responsibility, file a claim after 30 business days etc

    is there any recourse?

If i dont recieve items this wednesday i will process a paypal dispute i think.

open a dispute with paypal site today. that way they adjudicate based on the facts and your answer and sellers answer.

The first step is to dispute the transaction through PayPal. We’ll facilitate communication between you and the seller to see if things can be worked out. Many disputes are caused by misunderstandings, and they're often easy to resolve. However, if you and the seller can’t reach an agreement on your own, you can escalate your dispute to a claim. We’ll investigate and make a decision in favor of either you or the seller.

Absolutely. You have no comeback with PayPal. Never use friends & family when buying from strangers.

you are screwed. issue a complaint to let paypal know he is a scammer they may ban his account and prevent future scams. you have lost your money.

    Purchase scams
If a seller is encouraging you to send a 'Friends and Family' payment when you're buying a good or service, you should refuse. You could be dealing with a scammer who knows that your payment won't be covered by our Purchase Protection if it's a 'Friends and Family' payment.

OP - paypal issue a warning when selecting friends and family do they not?
