Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tarmac over cobblestones

I just passed by a street in Dublin that until recently was cobblelock. It's just recently been covered by tarmac. I'm just a bit surprised.

Is there any protections on cobblestone? Is it common for the council to make changes like that?

They usually lift the stones beforehand for re-use elsewhere in the city.

    Not your ornery onager

    Fully covered or in part?

If they need to access pipes/cables/etc they do a first fill with asphalt in case the fill material settles - asphalt is flexible, and will bend rather than break up - and are meant to put the proper surface back later.

That last bit is sometimes forgotten though…

Get on to Dublin City council, they do this and try get away with it, and take years to replace them
