Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Social housing

Just wondering if anyone has went through something similar as I’m quite unsure.

Basically I received a phone call Friday from the council asking me to meet with them on Monday morning for a meeting, as I have been shortlisted for a property in my area and to bring a payslip.

while this does sound quite promising, I left the meeting feeling disappointed and not very hopeful that something may come of this.

The housing officer asked me questions like do I work, do I have any criminal convictions etc which I’m sure is standard. Then she went on to tell me that 116 people have applied for the property and there is only 1 property to give, which made me think that maybe she’s trying to tell me that my odds are very slim. She than went onto say that this assessment will do for 12 months and that I won’t need to meet with them again until after that point and to keep applying for properties that become available, which completely through me, as I was told on the phone the previous Friday I was shortlisted for a property and to come in with a payslip!

She did ask to keep my payslip before leaving but I left feeling very confused as to what was going on and when I did try to ask, her response was vague and she just reverted back to the point that there is a lot of people on the list!

If anyone has any thoughts on this or has been through something similar or even works in the area I would love to know your thoughts.
    thanks

    Hi, welcome to Boards.

You’ve posted this in the incorrect forum. No big deal, of course. Try starting a new thread with your query again in  Accommodation and Property and some of the users there will be able to help.

    Best of luck!
