    Hi All,

Back in May the HSE authorised this drug for use for advanced Parkinsons Patients. A relative is finding it impossible to get access to it.

Her Consultant is trying her best, but it seems to be caught up in red tape. The drug is in Ireland, the HSE have said they will pay for it,

she has had a home visit from the ABBIE Care Nurses in Clonmel, but it seems to be in limbo.

Anybody hear anything about this. Any help would be appreciated. This is possibly her last option…..

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Lulu1,

Thanks for reply. She eventually got it. Went through a rough time for first few weeks. She had withdrawals from drugs she had been on. But I have to say she had def improved with it. Back eating, and has more life in herself. Back to going shopping with somebody else with her. Its no magic wand but has def helped her. PD is an awful disease and from what we see no 2 peoples symptoms are the same.
