Exporting my email accounts

Recently the hard drive on my Windows7 PC broke and I have had to. install a new hard drive as well as Windows 11 (I0 ,actually I think)

The old email accounts have been saved onto the new hard drive but they were in Windows Live Mail and ,when I click in them they prompt me to open the Outlook program (2016) that is installed on my new hard drive.

It seems to want me to open my account (or start a new one) .

I already have one or two hotmail addresses that I use that seem to be compatible with the old Windows Live Mail program

Should I use one of them to start this new program and can I then add the other email address that have been backed up in iaf files recovered from the old Windows Live Mail on the now broken hard drive on the Windows 7 system? (They are emails from a private website)

I get the feeling that I cannot access this Outlook program unless I start it off with one email address or another(I have to activate it somehow)

I have an iaf file but also the saved emails in .eml format.

In order to activate the Outlook 2016 program do I have to use the email address I have my Outlook account in ?

It seems to be an old hotmail address that is over 20years old but the address that I need to put into the Outlook program (for which I have the iaf and eml files) is a different address.

Is it important to give the hotmail address for which I know I actually have a Outlook account and not the address that I want to import?

Office application activation is separate from what account you want to load-in AFAIK , furthermore, what account to load as "main" and what as additional accounts, however, M$ "insist" your "activation account" is signed-in.

You will have to activate app first or it will run for 30d trial, then expire prompting for activation and/or deny usage/access.

Outlook 2016? Is it not a product key that's needed?

it is, but what i have experienced on my own install - M$ insisted account signed in. Let me know if it was different for you.

Not main mail account below, but if i sign out - M$ keep nagging and/or deny use. real f***ers
