Excellent intercept try. Brilliant from Smith.

Beauden should be called ashore shortly.

Robertson looked.like he was playing Tetris there

I agree that England's rush hasn't been perfect, but a lot of the time New Zealand's ball handling hasn't held up to that initial pressure. Too many knock ons and poor passes just before contact.

That defence can be exploited and NZ have done it through kicking. But when taking contact they've struggled.

    Lineouts abysmal here

These celebrations of knock ons are extremely cringe

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,049 ✭✭✭TheRona

NZ's execution has been woeful. Terrible decision making, and it's nothing to do with English pressure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,776 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    That's deliberate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 893 ✭✭✭Ben Bailey

    Not a high quality game.

Penalty for deliberate knock on surely?!

Surely he can't go back to look at that now?

England’s press is working because NZ aren’t very good. Absolutely lethal off broken play because of individual skills but otherwise they’re very ordinary. Razor simply hasn’t developed a style or a selection to bring them on. Poor discipline is their biggest characteristic currently. Ireland really should eat them alive.

This is one of the frustrating things about rugby. Ref called it as just a knock on, TMO didn't say otherwise as the game was going on…..and then when a try is scored, they go to have a look.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,212 ✭✭✭ironingbored

Lucky that wasn't a yellow card. England had numbers.

Great refereeing to let it run and then review

The ref mic booming out across the stadium is brilliant

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 893 ✭✭✭Ben Bailey

Best possible outcome. 8 point lead against 14.

    Angus Gardner is so terrible

Curry kneeling on Sititi but gets the decision

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,049 ✭✭✭TheRona

English player off his feet, hands on the ball, slows down the play……ref just yells No No No! Penalise him!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 28,235 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

TMO can't overrule the ref in that situation, can only bring it to his attention.

    Lawrence has been brilliant defensively.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 28,235 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

There is no point bringing it to his attention during play. The ref called it a knock on only. He has to wait for a break in play so the ref can review it.

    Tap and, maybe, go

    What a finish !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,263 ✭✭✭hold my beer

    Brilliant finish

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,381 ✭✭✭ongarite

How did he make it over!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,049 ✭✭✭TheRona

Yellow card one of these English players. Absolutely cynical play repeatedly when under pressure.

    Well taken try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 543 ✭✭✭niallm77

    SOME FINISH from telea

Piss poor defending on the touchline again.

Dirty from Itoje there - swinging the boot at the man grounding it

The kick was better than the try!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,381 ✭✭✭ongarite

    NZ discipline again awful.

England the same but got away with it because NZ needed a try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,766 ✭✭✭Former Former Former

Crazy from ALB, no need to do that.

About to get worse for NZ too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,776 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

England have to go for a drop goal here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 893 ✭✭✭Ben Bailey

    George Ford

    Who ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,745 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

That was so kickable for England, choked.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,776 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

England's attack has been crap all game. They didn't have a clue what to do when that ball came out of the scrum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,049 ✭✭✭TheRona

What a game. England probably deserved it. NZ definitely didn't, the way they played.

    Roll on next week.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 28,235 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

That pass for the DG was utterly unforgiveable, but I have no idea why England went through so many phases.

    Jaysus

The pass was awful but Ford is the last OH you want in that scenario

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,716 ✭✭✭ersatz

    England absolutely pissed that away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,831 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

New Zealand doing everything they could to not win and somehow did. What an end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,745 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

"New Zealand will travel on with confidence, England bereft"

    Such absolute bullcrap on BTNTTTTV

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 893 ✭✭✭Ben Bailey

England snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. One intercept try v three from NZ.

Cue more memes of England forwards celebrating knock ons.

NZ piss poor.....Ireland overwhelming favourites next week.

    George Ford 😬

Poor defending for the NZ try in the last 10 minutes.

Hits the post with a penalty in the last few minutes.

Misses the drop goal in the last play of the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,853 ✭✭✭clsmooth

He’s usually very good at drop goals. Poor pass back to him. Think they should have took it earlier when they were left of the sticks. Would have been another play, either a 22 receipt or kick off if it went over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,049 ✭✭✭TheRona

Is this the Ireland who lost to both England and NZ when they last played them both?

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 8,392 ✭✭✭fitz

NZ aren't improved at all under Razor. Have often said that he could disappoint NZ fans at test level. Dominating Super Rugby with a well settled team was never a guarantee that he'd be able to do the same for the national side.

I don't think this is a vintage NZ side, but their execution and discipline is poor...result will paper over the cracks a bit, but really do think following a full RC, NZ fans should be expecting more impact from Razor at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,745 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

I'm not sure they should, really.

Its a long way back from a long way down, no matter who you are. Judge them in Autumn 2026.
