Advice on Renovating an Old Agricultural Building in a Rural Area

I’m considering buying a piece of agricultural land from my aunt, located in the area where my mother grew up (now deceased). I’m not from the area, 45mins away - urban. There’s an old agricultural building that I’d like to explore the possibility of renovating and turn into a small residential unit.

Has anyone here had experience with building or renovating on agricultural land? I’m particularly interested in the planning side and whether I'd qualify for planning Any advice or experiences would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!
