Hi, I'm looking to upgrade to something a bit more modern. Only play a handful of games and the minimum specs below are probably the highest of what I play. Don't want high end or bottom of the barrell.

    Minimum specs

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

    OS: 64-bit Windows 10, Windows 11, MacOS 11.3

Processor: Intel Core i5-6400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400

    Memory: 8 GB RAM

Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 470 or better (min. 3 GB VRAM, DX12 support)

Just noticed there is a recommended spec of the following.

    Cpu: I7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3800x

Gpu: RTX 2070 or RX 5700XT

    Ram: 12GB

Build myself or prebuilt and I have have a 1050ti in current pc if a step up is extortionate.

    Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion, price is better than I expected. Someone suggested a ryzen 5000 series would be more bang for the buck so to speak. I've always thought intel were ahead of the game but no idea.

    I'm indifferent on either

If you have the budget, a Ryzen 5700x3D is an even better CPU as it removes CPU bottlenecks in almost all games.

Alternatively, upgrade the GPU choice to an AMD RX 7700 XT - probably a better option for more frames.

    Or do both!

Ready to buy now but wondering would it be better to wait and see what black Friday sales bring?

I honestly think buying now is better.

The incoming US administration wants to bring heavy taxes (import tariffs) on all goods, especially those made in China. This is causing manufacturers to divert as much inventory to USA as possible, right now, to avoid those tariffs.
The downside for us here in Europe (also Asia, I guess?) will then be lesser inventory until February 2025.
