    Hey folks,

I got an email from Casio (watches) saying they were hacked and user details were suspected taken and pretty much straight away i got a call from a Brussels 00 32 497 74 69 49 and then Slovenia number 00 386 2 801 94 96. I haven't tried ringing back but just wanted to see if anyone else getting calls from these numbers.

I've been getting the Belgian ones recently too. Am in the process of changing my number, the old one was leaked in the Facebook hack and that's when it started for me. The new number is quiet, thankfully.

I got a call from Belgium last week. The person on the other side asked for me by my name and then proceed to tell me there was a problem with my (non-existant) bitcoin wallet. Wasted 15 seconds of my life there.

I got one from a random Belgian number last week. Only happened once. Missed it, but I wouldn't have answered it anyway.

Yes, it seems with the measures the networks here are putting in place to prevent the spam calls with spoofed Irish caller IDs, Belgium is the new favourite for the spam calls. I suspect, because you have a number of large global roaming providers with bases there - Proximus (Belgium) and Tele2 (Swedish, but they have a presence in Slovenia).

They've been trying a landline number attached to a fax machine relentlessly for the last two weeks here - best of luck to them with that unless they have some clever ploy to attempt to phish by fax!

Just got one there (Belgian number again). Thought I'd answer for the laugh and annoy them. Found it a bit scary they knew my name? Let on I knew I had €250k on some bitcoin account (I definitely do not lol). And he got v angry with me so hoping the fact I annoyed him/called him out won't get me hacked somehow from a phonecall!

Pop your phone number into haveibeenpwned.com and see if it was in the Facebook breach. That could be how they have your name.

It's pointless, the numbers change every time because they're spoofed.

I have been getting missed calls from Belgium for ages, seems they have moved on from using spoofed Irish numbers.

    Block Belgium.

There is usually a pattern somewhere in these numbers because it's a redialler. You can install an app to block certain patterns. They usually try for a few weeks then move on.
