Fridge Water Supply Issue

We have a plumbed fridge freezer in the kitchen, directly across from the sink. It has its own water supply, which presumably is linked to the sink supply.

We've had issues recently where the water dispenser on the fridge won't work, unless the cold sink tap is on. Fridge will occasionally work independently, but issue is there most of the time only.

We've replaced the fridge recently (different issue), but the issue is still there with the new fridge. Wondering if anyone might know what's going on?

Is the water supply switched on to the fridge , Feed does not have a blanking plug to keep it clean?

Yep definitely switched on, it works 100% occasionally, also makes ice but only occasionally.

Any chance the issue is that you have high water pressure and a valve on the fridge is stopping the water until the pressure drops when you run the kitchen tap?

See if you can find the book of words for the fridge and see if it indicates the max and min water pressure?

Is there a water filter if its blocked it might block up completely if the pressure is high but less so with lower pressure when the kitchen tap is running.

Damaged inlet valve, might be locked shut by higher pressure and start to open with the pressure drops when the kitchen tap is running.

Might also be a frozen pipe but not sure how running the kitchen tap would affect that.

if you have the same problem with two different fridges then you need to check the pressure of the water, the manual will tell you the minimum pressure the valve will open at, have you taken off the fill hose recently to check the filter,

Looks like this is an issue with the pressure. It's connected to the sink which is the mains inlet, pressure in the sink is fine. Is there a way to add pressure to the branch split off to the fridge? Would something like below work?

Would it work i wonder as you need water movement before it boosts?

Is there a closed off shut off valve under sink that has limited pressure?
