Frothing oat milk

    Hi all

Does anyone have a good milk frother that works well with oat milk? We have a Nespresso frother which works fine with dairy milk but its useless with oat. Tried several different brands, barista and normal oat milk, but it always comes out totally flat.

I'd be happy to pick up a new one and most claim to work with oat milk but based on our experience with the Nespresso one I'm hesitant to splash out on a new gadget without some recommendations specifically from oat milk drinkers…

Any tips would be much appreciated!

    Thanks

I'm no expert on oat milk, but my daughter on a recent visit home introduced me to Oatley Barista edition (Grey carton) and it gives a great foam in my Nespresso aeroccino, now my milk of choice for frothing.

Hmmm that's interesting, we have an earlier model of the aeroccino but its useless with all the oat milks I've tried to date. Don't think I've tried that one, maybe its a brand difference. Might try give that one a go.

Do you add the milk straight from the fridge? Or is it room temperature? I must be doing something wrong…

I use it straight from the fridge, in my experience the colder the milk (whether oat or dairy) the better for frothing

I was gifted a Nobebird milk frother, I believe from Amazon, and it’s the best thing ever! Sadly, I don’t see it online anymore. It looked quite similar to the “KRUPS Frothing Control XL1008 Milk Frother” on Amazon UK.

What I will say is that it’s very brand dependant. You definitely need oat milk labelled as barista milk. Oatly is the best but I’m pretty sure all barista labelled ones worked. Regular oat milk categorically does not work.

Picked up some Oatly Barista and it works much better! Nice froth from it in the Nespresso frother when Minor Figures Barista and others we tried too were terrible.
