Boyne Community School Trim - Appalling Emails

Hello Boards.ie! This is my first post here.

I have been told by my son attending Boyne Community School, in Trim, has been receiving hateful emails / Google classroom posts from his school. He has told me that the hateful emails have been sent to everyone. In the emails, they have discussed performing sexual acts on the principal (Ms. Ryan)'s dead mother and the first years at Boyne Community School, other out-of-line behavior etc. One was sent in the early hours of this morning, and there has been previous ones.

Have any other parents encountered these disgusting emails sent to their children? How should I protect my son from these emails while still allowing him to use the system the school have in place?

have you spoken to the management of the school on the matter? That really should be the first port of call.

Hello Homer, I have not spoken individually to management, but concerns have been raised by other parents, and little has come of it. In terms of communication from the management, there's been numerous letters sent out about how they will fix the issue, but nothing has been fixed. Management has said the guards have been involved, but it's been months since this saga started. Thank you for your reply and advice!

well if you have no luck with school management the next step would be the guards. Also does he absolutely need access to email/smartphone? I know that’s a whole other discussion but he really doesn’t need email at that stage. Let his email be forwarded to you if absolutely necessary. Modern technology has its downsides unfortunately

I could go to the guards and provide a statement of some sorts, but I doubt I know more than this then the guards already do, as the school has forwarded information to the guards. He does need access to his email and Google Classroom, to complete his schoolwork. Thank you for the forwarding idea, I will give it a try. At least then when he receives the email I can talk to him about it, and delete it off his gmail. And I completely agree with your last statement!
