Best value holiday/flexi planning for civil service

I have worked with a year in cs and now need to use up holidays which is not ideal.

I have 22 holidays every year plus 1 1/2 days flexi for time in lieu .i am thinking to use 4 days hoidays after bank holidays from now on so this would give me 5 seperate weeks off and use flexi days for other odd days off and if I needed a fortnight off i could get a cert for one of the weeks with the holiday weeks ,how does that sound

Well i have a small farm as well and would be investing this time off into the farm ,so would not be really putting my feet up so a week at feburary,easter ,june ,august & october would be spent farming but i dont want to get burned out either.I find working up flexi time is a burden so I am just planning a bit ahead for myself ,not mad on long vacations.

I agree with you but sometimes a week off just does not cut it if you are burned out and anyway nearly all gov. Staff a bare sniffle and there off on a cert ,while I would keep going until I would drop normally.

If burned out so I should keep working on until I drop down ,how long extra then would one need to recover.

How many lifers in the cs barely break a sweat who should be fuked out long ago still stay hanging around until they are 70.

There is no question of fake sickness but having 1 week of annual leave at certain times might not be enough to recharge me when I have other commitments .So I guess it would be wiser to apply for unpaid leave for these times instead.

PS I would have underline health conditions that flare up which cause me to burnout but rest usually sorts this

If you are tired because you are doing a second job in your leave time, that's not your employer's responsibility. Burnout from a 35 hour a week CO job is not common.

Yes, that's unpaid leave, or shorter working year which is usually readily available if you apply in good time

Go for shorter working year for extra leave and how about less slagging off of your coworkers? Trying to sound like you're so much better and well above the rest of us. Some of the best and most hardworking people I've met have been colleagues in my various CS positions. You're tarring an awful lot of people with your ugly attitude.

I heard a CO colleague the other day ask if she could book sick leave off. The same person is going to be acting EO in the New Year.
