Anyone else buying in Meadow Mills, Athy? + Thoughts on living there?

    Hey everyone,

So, I and my partner took the plunge and paid a booking deposit for a development off plans in Meadow Mills, Athy. Super excited, but also a bit... stressed!

It's been two months now, and we are still waiting on the contract. Anyone else in the same boat? We've got full bank approval, which is great, but I'm starting to get nervous it'll run out before things get moving.

Basically, I'm just hoping to connect with anyone else buying in the development. Maybe we can share info or just commiserate!

Also, if anyone actually lives in Athy, I'd love to hear your honest opinions. What's it really like? Is it a good place to settle down? Any insights would be hugely appreciated.

    Thanks!

Hey I can't give you any information on that development unfortunately but I grew up in athy myself . It's a town that was missed by celtic tiger developments but its a town that really is beginning to develop now . Good selection range of supermarkets etc in the town but very little facilities for teenagers in terms of things to do etc . Hopefully this will start to improve with time . Nice few restaurants in the town hopefully the new refurbishment of the town square will bring more business to that area . Nice greenaway for walking running through town . In terms of travel bus service in town and good rail service . Travelling to Dublin takes an hour but you'd need to be on the road by 6am to miss the really heavy traffic.

Wishing you all the best on your purchase.
