Safe hair dyes? (without PPD or minimal harmful chemical)

    Any suggestions?

I just read PPD is in most hair dyes, especially for heavily dark colours.

Other nasty chemicals such as heavy metals may also be present.

Are there any known names to avoid such ingredients?

Should be more gentle on hair and reduce potential for allergic reactions.

11 best natural hair dyes 2024, per experts and reviews

Perhaps some on this list might be okay?

    Ammonia, PPD and alcohol free.

    What I've got so far.

    Direct type semi-permanent dyes:

Manic Panic, Directions, Crazy Color, Lunar Tides, Good Dye Young, Arctic Fox, Goldwell’s Elumen (a bit different to other semis), Wella Color Fresh (liquids in bottles).

Depositing conditioners / masks available too.

Aveda’s and Wella have PPD free dyes in sense that they use ME-PPD which might or might not suit to someone getting reactions to PPD.

However issues may arise in future depending on sensitivity to other ingredients.
