    Hi

I've just returned to the boards after many years busy on my Scottish side…I'm trying to get back with Michael Kane B: 1851 and having no luck whatsoever

What I know is he was married to Elizabeth Feeney B:1859 Married Sept 1886

Her father was Owen Feeney 1820-1880 from Breanrisk

I can't find birth for either of them on Ancestry or anywhere else I've looked

I see he was a widower.

Have you identified his previous marriage?

You need to look in baptismal records - neither will have a birth if your dates are correct (what's the evidence for them?)

Rootsireland claims to have the relevant parish records up to 1920 but I can't find this 1886 marriage. You should follow up with the church to see if they recorded the mothers' names as well.

Based on earlier baptisms in the same parish and residence (Newtownforbes and Ballyforbes), I suspect that first wife may have been a Mary Reilly, earliest child I spotted was baptised in 1868.
