laptop standby problems

I got a new laptop a few months ago. When I click "standby" or press the sleep button the computer goes into standby mode. The problem is that the laptop wont boot up again when I press the power button. The fans start to take over and power goes to the screen but thats it. I have to take the battery out and unplug the…

I have to take the battery out and unplug the power and then start it up again from scratch.

Are there any suggestions how to fix such a problem apart from a full re-install.Its quite a new machine.
