In-joke in an Enterprise episode?

I downloaded some Enterprise episodes last week for something to watch. In either Home or Borderland, I forget which, Archer is going over the Enterprise with the other NX captain-one of techs proudly boasts that the EPS conduits were now run directly through the consoles, and it occured to me that this might be an in-joke referring to the whole exploding consoles thing.

EPS stands for Electo-Plasma System, ie drive plasma, which is supposedly this highly-volitile stuff.

Either way, I found it quite amusing.

Class. Like on Farscape - "haven't you people ever heard of fuses?" :p It's definitely an in-joke, like you said noone in their right minds would run drive plasma through a user console :)

They made another injoke last week trip (i think) says "maybe the bridge is on one of the lower levels" reid replys "well theres no rule saying the bridge has to be on top of the ship" where in fact there is for starfleet ships at lest.

I always thought it was a bit mad thay they just couldent put a little blinking light saying " this console is going to explode so get away " cars have something like that but it uasually lets you know you need petrol!
