Tugsten T3 sync problem

I can get it to work directly connected to the laptop (a Dell -Win2000) but once the laptop is on a docking station they will not synch. I have tried installing it while the laptop is on the docking station but get the same problem. Any one have any ideas here? Thanks

Yes,
(but have only used that usb port with a memory stick previously.)
