Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The big revelation scene in Chinatown...

I'll use spoiler tags for those who may not have seen the film...
    Evelyn Mulwray: She's my daughter.
    [Gittes slaps Evelyn.]
Jake Gittes: I said I want the truth!
    Evelyn Mulwray: She's my sister...
    [slap]
    Evelyn Mulwray: She's my daughter...
    [slap]
Evelyn Mulwray: My sister, my daughter.
    [More slaps.]
Jake Gittes: I said I want the truth!
Evelyn Mulwray: She's my sister AND my daughter!

Very powerful and it's great as you can tell he was really whacking her quite hard...

LOTR: The Return of the King

Scene: When the credits finally ran, think I ever looked forward to something so much in a film. Ohh the balrog was good at the start of TTT.

other than the above the 'yellow cones' in monsters inc gets it.

damn zulu you beat me too it :( definetly gotta be the shootout after the bank robbery in heat, failing that my next choice would have to be pulp fiction, where jackson and travolta are in the car and the black guy is in the back, they are argueing and Bam! gun goes of mid conversation and blows yer mans brains out....class :D

Has to be "Brazil" with Sam Lowry in the torture chair and Michael Palin walks in with the baby mask and turns around to the camera. Spooky.

Ho hum. So many movies to choose from.

Greatest opening scene in a movie:

Apocalypse Now with the Doors playing The End to accompany a napalm strike. (Far out man)

or Trainspotting. Iggy Pop blasting out Lust for Life while Ewan McGregor does his 'Choose Life' rap.

or Gladiator. 'On my command, unleash hell'

    Coolest lines:
Just about anything by Clint Eastwood
    Outlaw Josey Wales:
'Man's got to earn a livin'
'Dyin' ain't much of a livin' boy'

'Go Ahead. Make my day' -- can't remember which Dirty Harry movie

    The Unforgiven
'Anyone don't wanna get killed better clear on out the back'

    Or anything in Pulp Fiction

'Hamburgers! The cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast'

'Mmmm hmmm. This is a tasty burger'

    Most shocking scene

    Carrie
The hand coming out of the grave

    The Crying Game
When Stephen Rea goes down on yer wan

    Psycho
When she turns the chair round in the cellar

    Most erotic moment:
Kathleen Turner in Crimes of Passion doing her air hostess hooker routine
'We might run out of Pan Am Coffee, but we've got plenty of TWA tea'
    (think about it)

    Best last line
    Italian job
'Hold on lads, I've got a great idea'

    Casablanca
'I think this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship'

The Good the Bad and the Ugly
'Blondie. You son of a ba ee ya ee yaaaaaaa'

Even better was when Michael realised who betrayed him....
"It was you xxxxx, it was you, you broke my heart" followed by the sicilian kiss of death....
