This is a guess on my part but it seems ads which DO NOT have any google-ads on them load while the others wont. Watching the bar in opera it lists the actions being taken "request sent to..." etc but in a page which wont load the message gets stuck with "receiving data from..." from who?
Well my guess is its trying to reach google but is'nt getting anything back and the page stops loading.

Like I say just a guess but somethings sure up.

    Mike.

I'm using Opera and I'm having no problems. Try deleting any cookies you have relating to Boards / Google. I've found that solved similar problems in the past.

Its working properly in IE (ugh) so I'll flush me cookie cache.

I went into the cookies jar and deleted all google refs and all pages now loading. Mr Angry you're getting some rep! :)

The google adds block the drop down menus sometimes ! ! From Rec to System.

That google ad server is very widely used .

Google ads are embedded onto sites such as The Reg as well . If you have 'an issue' with it on Boards you will have 'an issue' with it if you encounter it on other Fora or News Sites too. I never noticed it interfering overmuch with dropdowns .

In Opera you can bannish this problem by unticking "In line frames" feature in properties/page styles.

Admit it mike - you're a closet socialist, trying to remove the stain of those capitalist pig-dogs from your favourite site!

What gets me is the choice of adverts that google serves up.

For instance, on this thread it comes up with:

Gay Movie Reviews: Quick reviews of hundreds of mainstream gay movies

See Foreign Films Online: Check out our hard to find, award winning movies from $4.99

Does Adsense link to these every time you post Mike? :D

Firefox 1.0 for me too. I'm using Adblock as well so I don't get the google ads.
