Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ok...I have a file on cd that I want to copy to my hdd....the file fails a crc, but I don't care about that....I'd rather get as much of the file as I can over, corrupt or otherwise.

Is there any way to turn off CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) in windows?

try googling for unxutils , few windows ports of handy unix utils.. like cp (copy)

use it like cos copy cp cd:\bleh hd:\boobs

or you can get programs for windows to do it.. i think isobuster is the name of one, reads directly from the cd instead of the umm.. aspi layer?

:D Got isobuster from here (cp fails because it crc's too :)). I had to "ignore" some sectors, but that was just what I was looking for.

One green apple for you sir! :) Thanks very much.

<edit> there is a newer version of isobuster on isobuster.com </edit>

Did you try to make iso from the cd in order to extract files from the iso image?

CD2ISO will raw read CD's for free :)

CD2ISO is a simple tool to extract .iso images from your cd or dvd disk. It will read any drive as raw disk, so you can also use it to make a sector dump of a removable drive (cd, dvd or floppy).
Cd2iso works very straight-forward. It will dump raw sectors of a filesystem. You do not need any additional dll files.
You can use it to make iso dumps of a CD or DVD drive, and to verify the checksum of existing or just-burned disks.

    Freeware vs commercial version
The freeware version is for personal use only. If you use diskimage professionaly, you should obtain a license. The freeware version has no limitations in reading and writing devices.
