Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yikes, the two standout matches look like being Utd v Exeter and Yeading (who?) v Newcastle, no all prem ties which is pretty rare..

well 'standout' as in the British press will all get in a tizzy cos there are non-league teams playing premiership sides....Arsenal v Stoke doesn't have muxh of the "Romance of the FA Cup TM" about it....

We'll have a tough game against West Ham, another ground to knock off my list this year. Bring em on Jan 8th.

Think I heard on the news that its actually the first time it has ever happened. Either that or they are telling me lies again.

Man U in home draw versus crap oppostion shocker !!!!! Good to see the specially heated Man U ball still works to ensure a fair draw for Sir Bollex.

Compared to All the rest of the premiership sides who have drwn tough oposition

I don't want to turn this into a Man Utd V the world argument but before you go spouting sh1te at least do some research. Who did man Utd play in the Third round of the fa cup Last year? Was it A non league side? I'll let you find that out. Was it even a home tie? Did they not also play Man City, Fulham and Arsenal on their way to the final? That's 4 premiership sides and a First division side in a maximum 6 rounds it takes to win the cup.

What about the year before? Did they not play west ham(Premiership Team at the time) in the third round before losing to Arsenal?

Let's go back another year. Who did they get in the Third round that year?

It's actually been amazing the number of premiership/first division sides Utd have been drawn against in the last 7-8 fa cups.

As for the draw, roll on the fourth round, may see some interesting ties then.

Big money spinner for Exeter. Don't they get half of the profits from the OT gate receipts?! I'd say United will put out a second string side for that one...

last few years both United and Arsenal have given all the gate reciepts to the lower clubs to help them out, hopefully it'll be the same this year..

FA Cup rule 18 (a) means that teams cannot play second string squads, thank god.

    18. PROVISIONS CONCERNING PLAYERS

    (a) Each team participating in a match shall represent the full available strength of each competing Club.

    Interesting rule.

I wonder how they can define a full strength side though. Especially if a manager is fond of rotating the team...
