What do you think was the funniest thing to happen in wwe.

For me it was when Gerald Briscoe won the hardcore title off Crash Holly and Michael Cole started whispering "Gerald Briscoe is the new hardcore champion".That was classic

Jerichos "Gore and the Whore" promo was priceless years ago when referring to Rhyno and Steph.

This year, the funniest was when Eugene was running around the place while Le Resistance were in a match, he went to the control box, start pressing buttons, and all the pyros went off at the same time, costing LR the match.

Funniest ever that i can think of at the moment was Bobby Heenan, in an Andre leotard , left as the last man on his '89 Survivor Series team and taking a beating from the Warrior.

In recent memory, Kurt Angle's answer when E & C asked him to get in on a picture with "Mini Me" Joe C , - "Guys , you know there's nothing i like better than posing with midgets , but i've got business to take care of "

Kurt and Stone Cold just as the InVasion occurred. Hugging Vince, wearing cowboy hats. It was all gold. The Rock as a heel with his Rock Concerts were great as well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,742 ✭✭✭blackbelt

I'd agree with the stone cold, kurt angle and vince around invasion angle.I thought it was funny when stone cold suddenly changed and started giving out about tin badges etc.

Also when vince was inpersonating ric flair and he put the jacket on and as he went to get the wig he said "hold your applause".That was funny

One of the funniest moments I can recall happned about 2 years ago when Kane and HHH were feuding for the World title and it was in the weeks after HHH had started humping "Katy Vick",Booker T and Kane were having a conversation with Goldust listening in the background. It went something like this:

Booker T:"Kane,no one believes what HHH is saying.I mean, who the hell would have sex with a dead body?"

(Goldust,in the background, raises his hand as Booker and Kane stare at him)

    Goldust:"What?I was young and stupid!"

Other than that,I found Austin and Angle hilarious during the Invasion angle as well as Austin warning everyone to watch out for Debra's cookies.
The Rock was great when he returned as a heel as well.
The King is always good for a laugh these days.

Well I forget what PPV it was but years ago Psycho Sid was giving a promo and he screwed up lines and said f**k can I start over to Mean Gene and Mean Gene replied "We're Live Big Man" lol Sid Legend!

And it shouldn't of been funny but being a huge WWE(F) fan and not so big into WCW, the beginning of the take over Raw in which Vince was beside the T.v with Jarrett on it and he started taunting him waving goodbye, your gone

Crash Holly fighting the hardcore match in the Fun Zone...Great entertainment!

And Vince McMahon! anything he does is absolute gold...him and Christian

Ohhh and what about the DX piss take of The Nation Of Domination..Road Dogg playing D-LO repeating everything The Crotch (HHH) said ..."SHOULD OF SMELL WHAT THE BROTHER WAS COOKIN!"

Hell I though the Eugene Skit with the rock was good though..The who's your favourite Wrestler!?

And Credgly!: Christian Edge and Foley more instant success!
Plus Angles earlier stuff like "Hey!, My Chicken Suit!"

Bad Blood 2003, Test Vs Scott Steiner. Before the match started, Test was outside the ring with his back to it, arguing with Stacy Kiebler. Steiner got himself in position on the ring apron for a simple double axe-handle, and FELL OFF. He just about grazed Test's calf.
What was so brilliant about this was the fact that my friends and I had been speculating about what amazing displays of uselessness we would see from Steiner. This was better than aything we could have hoped for.

A funny one for me was Test Vs Eddie , were Test flipped over the rope and twisted the middle and top rope around his foot . 2 refs couldnt get it off test couldnt get it off so Eddie had to help .He was caught for a while . The Steiner fall was good also . Ah i love outtakes.

One that springs to mind was the hardys and someone vs rosey jamall and rico in a six man tag table match, i think it was anyway.

Twas near the end of jeffs days in the wwe anyway.

2 almighty mess-ups from jeff, one was he was doing his running on the crowd-partition thing and slipped and fell on his ass.

The second was rico had matt set up on a table and he was climbing to the top rope, he was hesitating like a mad yolk looked like rico was messing up.

The when he got to the top he started mock stumbling and pretending to lose hos balance. Then outta nowhere he just screams "DAMMIT JEFF" then jeff finally climbs on to the apron and hits the rope in about the middle of the ring, making rico make the most extravagent fall ive ever seen.

    ^^^

That was Survivor Series 2002 if Im not mistaken. I'm going to have to watch that again to see what you are on about. Must say, I never noticed the "Dammit Jeff" part.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,295 ✭✭✭jonnybadd

No its definitly there, must have watched that one moment 10 or so times

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Yes you're absolutely right about the "Damn it Jeff!" moment.I thought I was the only one who picked up on that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,295 ✭✭✭jonnybadd

after discussing this thread with a friend who is not online he told me his funniest moment.

It was in the Hardcore Holly vs Al Snow hardcore match where eventually got to fighting in the river.(great match by the by)

But at one stage there was a box(?) that one of them had to open to get open for a weapon. HH tried to open this box a few times, then the action spilled away from the box, then back, and the box was open!

now it doesnt end there apparantly you can see a shadow of someone walking away from the general area of the box.

As i said im unsure if this is true or not but sounds funny anyway

The Royal Rumble a few years ago when somebody dropkicked matt Hardy in the back, but missed by about a foot, and then Matt reacts a few seconds later as if it was the strongest kick ever.

Booker T vs Stone Cold in the Shopping Centre

    Edge and Christian.

Ultimo Dragon slipping on the Stage at Mania this year, what made it funnier was he slipped just as that stupid dragon roar (do dragon's roar?) came into his music.
Like Steiner with his slipping on the apron iccident, this was all Ultimo needed to add to his unimpressive WWE career.

On a similar note do Sky edit out when fans jump the rail like when a fan tried to attack Jericho or when one tried to attack Eddie?, I saw them on the net but don't remember ever seeing them on Raw and wonder does it happen more often

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,304 ✭✭✭oneofakind32

The damn it Jeff thing was edited from the DVD along with when Stiener telling the ring crew guy to ''gimmie the ****in mike''.
As for funny moments. I remember when Christean was going for the cruiserwieght tital. He been booked in a match for the tital that night but was over wieght and Foley (who was commish at the time) said that medical science has proven that the quickest was to loose wieght was by wearing a rubber suit. Christean asked him if he had one and he said ''no but I have a chicken suit, this is the same one kurt angle wore when training for the olimpics'' So he puts it on and later in show Kurt is walking by and say's ''Hey my chicken suit''

You liked that!? lol Well Al Wilson was the man pity he died huh?...just like Chavo Classic just as he was getting good he goes and leaves(well he screwed up but you get me)

Everything The Rock said when he was a heel back in the day was gold too....Ruudy Poe Bridge!

No no no no no theres a very fine difference between liking something and finding it funny, ill go with the latter on this one. Imagine the room with the writers coming up with that story line!

During the gimmick battle royal at Wrestlemania 18 (?), when Iron Sheik was coming down the ring and Bobby Heenan exclaims, "By the time the Iron Sheik gets to the ring, it'll be Wrestlemania 38!".

Actually, most of the commentary in that match was very funny. So cool hearing Okerlund and Heenan commentating after so many years of not seeing them!

As for that SS 2002 moment when Rico shouted at Jeff, I just remembered that! That was so funny, I couldn't believe I heard Rico saying that, and then I rewound it a load of times to check it, I was pissin myself laughin! It helped that I didn't like Jeff a whole lot.

    Anything involving Christian and Edge
Anything between Austin and Angle during the Invasion angle
When Rock came back as a heel and the promo he had with the Hurricane in the dressing room
Angle talking about playing with little kids, I think it was before a match with Rey.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 199 ✭✭cannonballkid

The lesnar and Kurt off camera gay angle.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 637 ✭✭✭TOPDAWG

Back when the brood (egde, christian and thingy) were kidnapping everybody they kidnapped one guy from this new tagteam who were brought in, public enemy, (tink they were just made job every week cos they came from wcw or sumtin) so they kidnapped him and the commentators were all like OH MY GOD WHAT ARE THEY DOIN, THEIR GONNA KILL HIM and all hat nonsense. 2 mins later there was a hardcore match that went backstage and there was your mano walkin past in the background.

Another time austin and rock were taggin against booker and someone else, it was the nite hhh returned at msg, booker was kickin rock on the ground and the rock was doin his big theatrical hit by a nuclear bomb selling that he does, booker stopped but the rock sold another kick that was never done and just in the corner ya could see austin kinda turning away laughin to himself goin like "aww for ****s sake"

Anything angle does is class like even that same nite saying he hated u2 with thier beautiful day (song used for hhh return)
His O.H.A campaign when he first turned up, Olympic Heroes for Abstinence when he preached the benefits of celibacy to teenage kids wearing a sandwich board.

Steiner and his purple thong at royal rumble 2003, actually that was just more frightening than anything.

Austins beverley hillbillies story was class as well.

Always and forever: ShockMaster's entrence to WCW. It was tugboat dressed up in a stupid costume. He was going to be the Earthquake to Sting's Hogan for a while. But his big entrence on live television resulted in him breaking down a wall (Part of the plan), the tripping over the rubble and falling flat on his face (Not so much part of the plan)

    Honourable mentions:
Sid saying "F**k let's take that again" in a live interview
Taker shouting "Help me out" to Albert at WM in the middle of his botched powerbomb
Sid foreshadowing Bush by about 3 years by saying " I'm twice the man you are, and have half the brain you do" To Nash. Again, in a live interview. Nash was actually crying with laughter
Holly going mental when Bart Gunn knocked him out in Brawl For All, and shouting "I didn' know it was for real"
Sid breaking his ankle on a live PPV.

    I miss WCW.....

    Ya, that was hilarious

Look for the crappy gimmicks thread and there is a link to that Shockmaster incident, including a nice little soundfile. Absolute classic stuff.

For me any time Y2J speaks is afunny moment for me. From the obscenely expensive Jeritron 5000 to really hurtful slags such as 'You Assclown' or 'You snot-nosed punk' to brimming self confidence 'I am a larger than life living legend!'. Class stuff.

By the way this is my first ever post! Yay!

    ^^^welcome

Just thought of a great one as well today.

It was Ernest "The Cat" Millers debut in none other than, thats right, BOISE Idaho. He called out Torrie Wilson as she is from Boise.

As we all know, The Cat is the most entertaining man on the planet, and he had a mini dance off with Torrie. She then took a lollipop from between her norks, licked it, then put it into The Cats mouth.

He then started a frantic dance, before his mc Lemarr (??) had to put a blanket around him and lead him away, James Brown stylee. Amazing segment.

Oh, and the Cats few moments in 2004 Rumble. What a legend.

Not the funniest moments, but funny none the less....

Remember when austin got Bischoff to sing his theme tune? And Bisch does it,lip synching. They start arguing about it(Stone cold was on the big-screen,if i remember correctly) and bischoff said he was definately singing and Austin cuts in by shouting "Milli Vanilli!!" Lol.

When Kane was imitating Rock and Hogan: "Kananites", etc.

Someone mentioned when Austin and Booker were fighting in the supermarket,i thought it was hilarious when he shouted "Price check on Jackass"while he was leaving.Oh,and when they were in the church as well.

Austin again:when he's singing with the guitar to vince. "I am the champion!"

Sorry, but gotta throw in the rare comeback post here! :)

Coach interviewing Rock at Wrestlemania X8, "Whaddup G?!" The look on Rocks face
Mean Gene fscking up at Summerslam 89 when the banner falls down and he just says "f*ck it!", not only that but Bobby Heenan has a look like someone's gonna get the sack and walks off, then there's Ventura's commentary afterwards:

"Ha! I don't know what happened That Gene Okerlund but SOMEONE'S chasing him down! I like that, it's about time that old man got in trouble, all he does is cause trouble himself!!"

Booker T And Austin in Supermarket Sweep, that's comedy gold.

Someone mentioned King saying he's bringing up Booker T's criminal past by wanting to pay for stuff with cigarettes, I found it funnier the first time around when he used that during a Crush match! ;)

A few months ago on RAW when the Rock was on, Bischoff is about to have him escorted outta the building, then Rock comes out with a class one liner:
"You want to kick the Rock out of the building? No wonder WCW went out of business!"

The DX skit of the Corporation. Jason Sensation as Shawn Michaels coming down to the ring with a basketball in his hand, it slips as HHH slips in another cool one-liner "Uh oh, hey SHAWN! Ya dropped the ball again!" And X-Pac playing Scamrock "Arrrgh! All this talk about sphincters is sending me to the zone!! It's five knuckle shuffle time!!"

The Playboy Buddy Rose blow-away diet. This was originally aired on a Saturday Nights Main event in 1990 but there's a redux hidden as an Easter Egg on the From The Vault DVD set.

Angle to Rey Mysterio. "Sorry, must be this height to talk to Kurt Angle!"

Kurt Angle cutting a Weird Al style interview on The Rock at No Mercy 2000.

Aw man, i could go on, but i'd take forever and a lifetime to list off the funny stuff.

Just saw Beyond the Mat there today, thought it was kinda funny when Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler were doing commentary on RR 99, and JR is in the back saying a load of stuff that Lawler just repeats on air.

I wonder who's keeping that announce team on air?..

    The great one returns

    8/2/01
The Rock: "Who - in the blue hell - are you?"
Booker T: "Who am I? Who am I? I'm the WCW Champion, sucka!"
The Rock: "Just so The Rock understands this, you're the WCW Champion Sucker? What's more important, The Rock doesn't believe he caught your name."
Booker T: "What's my name? Hell, my name is Booker-"
The Rock: "It doesn't matter what your name is!" - The Rock giving his first promo back after making his movie and completely shutting down the verbal offense of Booker T

    Copied from:
    http://www.thebalrogslair.com/extras/quotes/2001quotes.shtml

If I remember correctly the funniest part was when The Rock was trying to hide his smirk behind the mike.

I did a google search for the quote so I have no idea about this site but there are some funny quotes on the same page
