Halfords are opening up stores in Ireland after Christmas. I think they're taking over 'Motorstore'. Ripspeed will also be opening in Halfords. It will be interesting to see if they'll be any cheaper than our beloved Motorstore.

Ripspeed is Halfords, unfortunately. I was gutted when that happened, I spent an hour in their original store in London many moons ago and got so orgasmic at the sight of all the fudgies and doodahs I nearly made a mess on the floor.

I think there may be plans for a Halfrauds on the Belgard Road sometime but can't find anything on it!
The one on the malahide Rd may still be under application for PP to Dublin CIty Council.

Hmmm, well if it is, they're being very presumptuous by putting a big sign saying 'opening soon' across the shop.

    Heh, Halfrauds - good one!

Well Halfrauds have had a couple of planning apps in with the corpo over the last few months -
http://www.dublincity.ie/planning/commerc/week44.pdf (p7) (retention of sign and some other stuff!)
    http://www.dublincity.ie/planning/decis/week43.pdf (p26) (decision for week 35 application)
    http://www.dublincity.ie/planning/commerc/week35.pdf (p21)
Seems like you are right - the shop is ok - the signage isn't!
