XDA2 on Meteor (or is there an alternative?)

Howdy Its pull your hair out time again - trying to pick a pressie for the wife (the woman is hard to buy for) Anyway, I'd like to get here a XDA2 but we are both switching from O2 to Meteor after christmas (O2 are too bloody expensive). Can the XDA2 be used on Meteor or is locked to O2? Is there any other phone/PDA…
