Any chance the "geek" headings can be re-jigged?

I know its been said before but the recent introduction of a Gadgets forum and its clasification has bothered me a little.. Its clasification under Science surely has to limit the amount of visitors it experiences. Also, the allocation of Home Entertainment under After Hours is a bit "out there" too.. I suggest renaming the Comp heading to Tech and introducing a Consumer Electronics heading.

Would it not be better to have the following:

    Tech

    .......Comp
    ..............Computers
    ..............Programming
    ..............Tweaking/Modding

    .......Electronics (Consumer Electronics)
    ..............Mobiles/PDAs
    ..............Gadgets
    ..............Home Entertainment

    .......Nets/Comms
    ..............Broadband
    ..............Nets/Comms
    ..............Security
    ..............Wireless

    .......Operating Systems
    ..............Mac
    ..............Unix
    ..............VMS
    ..............Windows

    .......Web
    ..............Web Hosting
    ..............Webmaster/Flash

I would appreciate if my suggestion was given some consideration as I am a regular user of most of there forums..

    Thanks

    Aye, looks a bit cleaner.

Yeah it looks fine, but OS / Nets are subsets of Comp and it ain't so tidy then... We should thrash this out a bit. Certainly an Electronics group would be good. I guess you just left out the Web stuff by accident.

should there be an APPs section seperate to windows ?

don't think so, you would just be doubling the forums, windows/windows apps, mac/mac apps, unix/unix apps, think it would just cause unneeded clutter, tis ok as is

    .......Web
    ..............Web Hosting
    ..............Webmaster/Flash

with the web hosting forum shut down for so long any chance we could just get rid of the web sub menu and just have webmaster/flash sitting in the main column? take the useful stickies from web hosting throw them into web master?

it may save a few of the web page threads from going into computers.

    Is this a little long?

boards.ie/vbulletin > Comp > Electronics (Consumer Electronics) > Home Entertainment

    Surely

    boards.ie/vbulletin > Comp > Electronics > Home Entertainment

    or

    boards.ie/vbulletin > Comp > Consumer Electronics > Home Entertainment

Also with a maximum of 4 sub-categories, is there a risk of an un-necessary amount of branching (a file in a folder in a folder in a folder in a folder in a folder in a folder in a folder in a folder in a folder in a folder in a folder in a folder in a folder in a folder )?

    Electronics (Consumer Electronics)

(Consumer Electronics) was added to provide a brief description of the content for the sake of the thread. It was not intended to be use in the drop down menus..
