Since we're nearing the end of 2004,what 5 things would you all like to see happen in 2005 in the WWE?Here's mine:

1.The return of The Rock,Austin and Hogan(Hogan even if it was just for WM21).I'd like to see Bret return too but that's being very optimistic. :)

2.The big, poor wrestlers either released or pushed to mid-card(i.e.Tomko,Heydenreich)and more opportunities for technical wrestlers.

3.A new and improved tag team division.

4.Less of Triple H and JBL and more opportunities for wrestlers who are being overlooked such as Y2J and RVD.

5.For Cena and the Dudley Boyz to go to Raw and for HBK and Orton to go to Smackdown.

    I expect the following

    1. Stephanie or Shane to come back on screen to "improve" ratings

    2. HHH to become once again a dominant champion

    3. The Dudleys to go from face to heel to face to heel, etc for no apparant reason

    4. One more appearance from Mae Young

    5. Wrestling to keep slipping and sliding

Thats how confident I feel about 2005 being a better year then 2004 :)

Very pessimistic Ph3nom, but you're most likely spot on.

Interesting ideas as well, Mr. MG, but some I can't see happening,

I'd love to see Austin, Rock and Hogan back in some capacity as well, but none of them are good for the long term. Austin’s fantastic, but his last stint proved WWE haven’t a clue what to do with him as a non wrestler ( they don't know what to do with half the guys who still compete ), Rock has no interest in wrestling full time anymore, great to see him back now and then but that's it. Hogan’s 02 return was great for nostalgia, but he has no place wrestling anymore, not in the main events anyway. Having him in a Ric Flair type role could work, but would he be happy with that?
Basically, WWE need to concentrate on building up young stars, how I’m not too sure, legends aren’t the way of the future (case in point, WCW)

Vince has always had a soft spot for Big men, no matter how bad they are as wrestlers (Zeus, Giant Gonzales, and yeah, Heidenrich), so there will always be one or two competing at high levels.

Tag team situation definitely needs to be improved. The Dudleys seem to be the only ones who want to be a team, and ironically need to be broken up to try and get people interesting in them again.

JBL's title reign should end, no one should be champ for more than six months, but I’d still like to see him at the top level. I like the fact that Vince finally gave a guy working for him for ten odd years at mid card a chance to run with the ball, and I don't think JBL has done all that bad either. Still, Y2J would be so much better as a no. 1 heel.

Short of death, HHH isn’t going away.

A switch of star is definitely needed, but I don't think it will be Orton or Cena, as I said above; they still have plenty to do where they are at the moment. The Dudleys only switched shows a while back and it did them no good, they need to be broke up. HBK on SM would be interesting , someone made the point the point that he wouldn’t want to as it's pretaped but that doesn’t seem to bother the likes of 'taker or Angle. Michaels’s flamboyance would work well on the slightly more "showbiz" style of SM. But again, he's a bit like Stone Cold and Co., how much longer can WWE rely on him?

As JR has said, it's a young man's sport.

    5 point wish list:

    1. Breakaway ECW formed again. A stable would be cool, whole other show would be better. Seen tonnes of signs on recent shows and a few mentions of the fed in commentary so wouldnt be surprised.

    2. Shelton Benjamin to get the World Title :)

    3. Shane-o-Mac to return and sort out Smackdown.

    4. JBL to stop feuding with undertaker, drop the belt to someone who can do more than a clothesline and but some value back in the title. Cena has my vote.

    5. Randy Orton to finally become the new Rock. Heel or face, he could have some amazing feuds, maybe with Shelton?

1-bret hart be inducted into the hall of fame
    2-both roters brought back together
    3-a really greatt wrestlemania-im going.,ha ha
4-randy orton be allowed to become the biggest heel ever.-if some people got out of his way,it would be possible
5-rvd and jericho to be taken seriously again

Oh Shin, you missed my point, my top 5 are the most predictable things to happen in WWE, so 2005 should not be any different

    1) Booker T, Cena, Big Show, Angle, Guererro get to hold WWE title (Maybe rVd)

2)Batista to become face and title contender on Raw

3)Orton to hold Heavyweight Title for a few months

4)More Wrestlers released (the rest of the fbi, molly holly (although she's great), and some others who have not been achieving anything ever)

5)Smackdown to move to sky sports.

SM is on Sky Sports , every Saturday night.

I know Sky one show it first Saturday mornings but just ignore that edited c**p, they'll be be cutting out shots of Torrie's ankles and over-aggressive irish whips soon.

The 5 things i want is 5 big fat wrestlers . The likes of Earthquake and Typhoon Yokozuna . Im sick of bodybuilders in the business . More Tecnical wrestling . RVD and Jericho getting more of a push. And mabey Sting , who knows we could see Vampiro going there now that Prichard is gone .

5 maybe 6 different champs in a year? That would be ludicrous. SD has a bad enough profile at the moment without making the WWE title a joke as well.

IMO, Eddie is going to win this wknd at Armegeddon, and will hold the belt til WM21 and drop to Kurt, in a 5 star match.

    anyways, hopes for the year

    1. The brand extension to end. Its not working. Ratings are down on both shows, Some wrestlers are not getting any exposure, while others are getting too much. Plus it could re-open the CW division, re-invigorate the IC/US belts (merged), and you have some dream feuds ie HBK/Kurt, Orton/Cena etc etc

    2. WWE to come back to Ireland. The ToD last May was amazing

    3. Jericho to get a credible title run.

    4. TNA takes off, and offers a good alternative to WWE.

    5. Less predictable storylines. I mean its pretty much a given at the moment that its Orton Vs HHH for the main event at Wrestlemania already, and Orton to win, and we have 'known' that now for 2 whole months.

    1. smackdown to change there name to putdown and let vince bring each of there wrestlers in to the ring and i gladiator fashion ask the crowd for tumbs up or down if they get tumbs down a letal injection ........most of em desereve it

2.Shelton Benjamin quit what ever it is he's trying to do n go back to his former job as the smackdown turnbuckle

    3. get rid of the diva seach time wasters on raw lads if ye want porn just watch porn

    4. tna come to regular tv. I cant get sky digital n broadband at the same time cuz my cable company are a rubbish

    5. rey jr take off the mask :D yummy

    lol WOW a lil harsh!
Then again I've been watching for over 15 years and its gotten so crap, there was a time when I wouldn't dare miss a week of it now I could care less I haven't seen Smackdown in full since March and I watch Raw(alot less crap then smackdown but still lacking)

    I'd like

    1. Vince to admit defeat and take Storylines off the experts i.e US
    2. Open up ECW with Heyman back at the helm
3.ROH and TNA to get into the fray
    4. Bret Hart to triumphantly return
5.Divas get less time and less clothing

  • Registered Users Posts: 202 ✭✭jesusjones

    I would like
1.For RVD to turn heel and fight Eddie for the title at Wrestlemania
2.For Kurt and Shawn to wrestle the same show
3.For Carlito to get more air time(That would be cool!)
4.For HHH not to get the world title for an entire year.
5.For Chris benoit to face Kenta Kobashi in an interpromotional match(I know that wont happen but I can dream about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,143 ✭✭✭D-FENS

Love to see Van Dam as a heel also, it's long over due.
He's not great on the mic but if they put Heyman with him it would work really well.
Of course , last time he was meant to be heel , as part of the Invasion angle, he got cheers wherever he went, would take happen again i wonder ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

It's hard to picture RVD as a heel but it would certainly be interesting.I liked it when RVD was part of the alliance especially the time(I think it was on Smackdown)where Austin asked the Alliance members which one of them was willing to fight for him that night and suddenly Heyman stood up from his position at the announce table and started signalling and shouting "RVD!RVD!" and the whole crowd joined in with Austin going,"Step up,RVD!"
Back then Rob Van Dam was awesome.Nowadays he's a shadow of his former self. It's a real shame.

Its not exactly his fault, he was mr monday night and now they have him on smackdown where he's done sfa.

My main wish and i think everyone concours(word of the day calender), is that the writing improves, no more year long champions and no week/month long champions.

Another thing is the belts, they should bring back the CW and the hardcore divisions, everyone loves to see two grown men fighting in a supermarket/ball pit

Also for NTL digital to get the wrestling channel

    Thats it really

I doubt these will happen, but anyway,
    1. Pushes for Jericho and Christian
    2. Keep HHH away from the title for the whole year
    3. Scrap the brands and bring Smackdown and Raw back together.
    4. Better storylines.
    5. Get rid of the big guys that cant do anything to save their lives.
    6. Get rid of any crap involving women striping or showing off their bodies, yes they are all very good looking, but if I want to watch that I will turn the huge amount of porn channels available on Sky Digitel.
    7. Improve the tag team division.
    8. Orton should be a heel, I cant stand him as a face.
    9. Dont bring back any old wrestlers like Hogan, Sting etc. They tried it before, it didnt work, it wont work now.

Yes I know thats more than 5 points, but WWE is so bad now that I could list a lot more.

    here is my wishes

    1.stone cold and hogan return
    2.wwe get back D-LO Brown
3.Y2J to be champ on Raw
4.Reformation of the ministry on smackdown with taker, gangrel, viscera, mordecai and Kane
5.Shane Mcmahon come to smackdown as face and feud with rene dupree or spike dudley
6.Paul London to rekindle his feud with Billy Kidman.
    7.Edge face turn
8.Brock Lesnar returns and feuds with eddie guerrero as heel or heidenreich as face.
9.Maven pushed for IC title and Shelton Benjamin for world title.y2j/SB feud.
10.Lastly and i know this would never happen but for an angle/shoot storyline of tna and wwe invading each other.

YOU THINK HE IS BETTER AS A FACE?

Its only now he is becoming semi entertaining with his hee turn. As a face he was terrible, hence the fans booing him week in week out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Yes I have to say I much prefer Edge as a heel. His new entrance theme is great also.

1)Title Moves......Batista to get the raw title(maybe turning on triple H in the upcoming raw ppv,it looks like it)... big show one more title . Cena Vs Orton for a title.

2)Brands go one on one.......A PPV of just RAW vs SMACKDOWN(maybe to end the brand split title vs title.)

3)New old wrestlers.....The wrestlers we see low in the card or on the sunday shows get a push...(looks to be happening already funaki as CW champ)

4)CENA vs ORTON.....This has to happen the two "young studs"(as jr would put it) getting there hands on need other.(my view orton goes into the match heel, cena will be face)

5)Kurt Angle vs Shawn Micheals....... One of the best technical wrestlers in the world(if not the best ever) vs one of the best entertainers in the world. (it would be a great match)

These my picks for 2005 I think wrestling will(and hope it will) find its feet again i dont think 2003/04 were great years for WWE a few good matches but it could have been a lot better.

    C.B.K(CannonBallKid) :)

    1. Get rid of all wrestlers not doing anything...FBI, Chuck Palumbo etc....
    2. Make some decent storylines(not ott like the Kane/Katy Vick thing...that was sick)
    3. Push some mid card wrestlers to make more competition for top titles.
    4. Heel turns for some wrestlers like...Cena, Orton(he's the new Rock) and others
    5. Lesnar Vs Heidenreich in a HIAC
    6. Get more managers for faces cause heels only have them really
    7. Get some competition for Snitsky(c'mon he beat Kane to s**t who else will he face)
    8. Get some really big guys as faces e.g. Kane and Big Show - faces Snitsky, Batista, HHH, Reigns - heels. Unbalanced I think.

Can't think of anything else right now

Jonny Stamboli was released as well. Nunzio is still around. Hopefully he will get somewhat of a CW division push as he is a very decent wrestler.

title changed hands 11 times in 1999, and was held by 7 different people .... so don't count it out.

Also held by 7 different people in 2002 (although I think it might have been part of the unified title at that stage)

    ^^^

In 1999 the IC title was changing weekly almost, and the WWF title was becoming almost as bad.

If a title is to have any credibility, it needs to be stable, and not on every waist their is.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,457 ✭✭✭Cactus Col

somepeople would argue that the wwe title isn't very credible while it's around JBL's waist.... and like I pointed out elsewhere .. he's had it the (or will on monday) longer than anybody has at any one time in the past 8 years.

that's longer then the rock, stone cold, triple h, angle, lesnar, hollywood hulk hogan. (since 1996)

    (although I reckon he's great)
