Can anyone give me advice. I am setting up a business in January that I shall be running from my own home. I am wondering what telephone company is the best (cheapest) for day time business calls. Anyone know? Does Eircom have a special business rate?

If it's a small business from home, you probably won't be making a vast number of calls and changing company may not be worth your while. It may however be worthwhile if you are making a lot of calls, especially international. There are lots of packages out there and each has it's own nuances. Talk to the sales reps in the various big phone companies (I suspect most of the smaller companies operate in one niche) to see what they offer. Before doing this you need to work out the profile you expect from your calls (local/national/mobile/international). Mobile typically takes up half of a business phone bill.

You need to decide whether you want detailed billing to split out private calls or not.
