Why was the list in moderators side profile removed?

I think it should be returned, its nice to know that when you see a user is a mod, to also see what forums they are mods of.

    Whats everyone elses opinion?

Does it bother you when people don't know you're a moderator?

I like it this way. Makes people more equal. People will know you're a mod of the board they're on (it lists it on the board), on other boards it shouldn't matter.

When people slag you off, they don't who you are.

    Then bammo!

plus it would take up too much room under the name for a person like Victor who moderates -> Accommodation / Property, Commuting / Transport, Junior Cert and Personal Issues.

You can nosey who moderates where under Boards.ie > Forum Utilities > Forum Leaders

Ok, far enough, was just curious to know why it was removed. Valid enough reason above to support it being left the way it is.

    End of discussion, thanks!

Heh, that's been missing for months, if not more than a year.

I can't remember why it was removed tbh.

im only a community moderator! :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,730 ✭✭✭✭simu

I usually sign "simu (moderator of x forum)" when I'm posting moderator-type posts in the forums I mod so that people won't think I'm some random user shouting orders at them.

But if I'm just posting in a thread I find interesting, I don't bother.

If people don't know what forums I co-mod then it increases the fun factor.

It makes conversations like this happen:

    DEATHGIVER2003: HI! N33D A KEY 4 HALFLIFE 2!
me: Quiet now child or bannage commences.
    DEATHGIVER2003: FUK U! WHO DO U TINK U R?
me: You are the weakest link. Goodbye.

    *satisfied sigh*

    I feel so useless....

Yes but only by night. By day he's a mild-mannered reporter working for a major metropolitan newspaper.

  • Registered Users Posts: 78,411 ✭✭✭✭Victor

It keeps the users guessing. Unfortuneately, mods are users.

You could request a name change to "$username, moderator of $boards[]", that would probably be the handiest.

I think the best thing here would be if on a forum, the moderator's tagline was "Moderator", just in his/her forums. There'd be no confusion then, and the obviousness of "Just users outside of their own forums" would be emphasised. I've no idea how easy/difficult that would be to implement though.
