New road marking on the quays in dublin

Today I noticed a lane marked out in the middle of the road.
Not sure if it's meant to be there but it makes a great route for motorbikes who can't use the bus lane :)
    Anyone know anything about it

Yeah I noticed that last Sunday night while going into the city on bus route 91. Couldn't believe it at first. I suspect the road marking guys made a huge boo-boo.

Perhaps they will put crossed white lines in it as a traffic island?

AFAIK it is the Arran Quay section, where there is no bus lane.

Which motorbikes can't use the bus lane?

    All motorbikes can. None may.

If it's between 1 metre and 1.5metre wide, badly surfaced, and placed where it's of no use to cyclists, then it is most probably a 'cycle lane'.

lol no rep any more :D

umm.... so does anyone know what it is?

Should they not move the bus off the queys at the points there is no bus lane?? When its bad traffic a bus cant get very far... i remember having to get off once when the liffey swim was on and walk the rest of the way as we were just not moving. I think we got there at the same time as the bus but it was better as it was packed and hot and stuffy...
Anyway they could go an alt way at those points.

It was marked in error, the guys marking the road made a mistake. It is supposed to be burned off shortly.
