V800 3G Settings Please Help

    Hi everybody,

    I have finally got my V800 but alas even though calls sms and mms are working i can not get vodafone live to work can somebody please help been on to vodafone ireland and they dont know. I have put in the usual settings but still no joy

    ps if i need to get the phone flashed to clear all the Uk settings anybody know a place that will do it

    I can't imagine that you would need to get it flashed to chaneg the settings...

    Try these:


    WAP/live! browsing over GPRS (SonyEricsson F500i)

    1 From the main menu, select 'Connectivity' & then 'Data Comm.'
    2 Select 'Data Accounts'
    3 To create a new account select 'New account'
    4 Select 'GPRS data' and then set 'Name' to "Vodafone live! GPRS"
    5 To edit an existing account just scroll to 'Vodafone live! GPRS' and press 'Edit'
    6 Set 'APN' to "live.vodafone.com"
    7 Set 'User id' to "dublin" (all lower case)
    8 Set 'Password' to "dublin" (all lower case)
    9 Set 'Password Request' to 'Off'
    10 The remainder of the settings can be left as default
    11 Press the back key 3 times to return to the 'Connectivity' menu
    12 Select 'Internet settings' & then 'Internet profiles'
    13 To create a new profile select 'New profile'
    14 Set 'Name' to "live! GPRS"
    15 Set 'Connect using' to 'Vodafone live! GPRS' and press 'Save'
    16 Scroll to the profile you have just created or an existing profile if you want to edit that (e.g. 'Vodafone live! GPRS')
    17 Press 'More' then select 'Settings'
    18 Set 'Connect Using' to 'Vodafone live! GPRS'
    19 Set 'Internet mode' to 'WAP'
    20 Set 'IP Address' to "010.024.059.100"
    21 Set 'Security' to 'Off' (set it to 'On' for WTLS settings)
    22 Set 'Username' to "dublin" (all lowercase)
    23 Set 'Password' to "dublin" (all lowercase)
    24 Press 'Save'
    25 Again scroll to the profile you have just been editing and press 'More'
    26 Select 'Advanced' then select 'Change homepage'
    27 Set 'Name' to "Vodafone live!"
    28 Set 'Address' to "http://live.vodafone.com"
    29 Press 'Save'
    30 Skip 'Second account'
    31 Set 'Show Pictures' to 'Yes'
    32 Press the back key once to return to the 'Internet profiles' menu
    33 Scroll to the profile you have been editing and press 'Select' to set it as the default profile
    34 Press & hold the back key to return to the desktop


    Picture Messaging configuration (SonyEricsson F500i)

    38 Set 'Auto download' to 'Ask in roaming'
    39 Select 'Accept messages'
    40 Tick 'Advertisements' and 'Anonymous' and press 'Save'
    41 Set 'Message Server' to "http://www.vodafone.ie/mms"
    42 Set 'Internet profile' to 'MMS GPRS'
    43 Press & hold the back key to return to the desktop
    44 Your phone is now set up for Picture messaging

    Jesus that worked a treat i can now get onto vodafone live but i can not seem to download any of the goals or videos it gives me the error invalid address but all other browsing is fine

    I thought there was no reason for the settings to be different for 3G handsets alright..

    Regarding the goals etc, it might just be something temporary or it could be due to the fact that the handset has not been officially released here yet..

    Actually, have you had your account provisioned for the extra services that 3G offers. I know you have ths sim card but a few things need to be added.

    where did u get the V800? any1 know where to get them as i checked vodafone.ie and they only have the 3G motorolla fone which is pants.

    He got it off ebay. The Nokia 6630 is released here too, its not "pants".
