    Hello!

We're holding a 'Weakest Link'-style quiz in my school in the nearest future and, in my role, I have to research a *lot* of simple enough, general knowledge questions - some which a slight Irish/Dublin leaning.

Feel free to throw your suggestions in :) I need another 70+

Apparently "Kildare was the first county in 1928 after defeating Cavan 2-6 to 2-5 to win the Sam Maguire cup."

Aaah lads! You'll need at least one question from Cork as well...

In Cork, what is the four-faced liar?

Go on the lillies! well done btw, although i think i smell a google.........

Is it some cathedral or something i believe, on shandon street?

  • Registered Users Posts: 990 ✭✭✭galactus

    It is indeed!

Specifically its the clock on St. Anne's Church...or Shandon as Corkonians call it ("or that church with a fish on the top" as non-Corkonians call it)

Perhaps a bonus mark to be awarded for mentioning the clock specifically.

PS Where's this quiz on? Is it open to the public? And are there prizes?

    :D

    w00t!
Right ill think of a hard one so

Bono and The Edge got their nicknames from their involvement with another band or the others bands members or something. The bands sorta split or something, U2 went on to great fame (obv) but the other band had little success, whats the name of the other band?
