    Hi,
I'm moving to Dunmore (between Abbeyleix and Durrow) in a few weeks and would like to stay on broadband. What will be my options for surfing the www and for playing online ? (god I hope it's not back to dailup  )
    cheers
    joe

I live in durrow and i have been busting to get BB for years.

our only hope at the moment is that Digiweb plan to build a
    WiMax mast in Portlaoise.

Wimax has a range of about 30 miles so hopefully Abbeyleix
and Durrow will be well covered within that range.

that is the only option i am aware of at the moment.

Well I dont know if you will have to wait too long.
Apparently the service is meant to go Live this month
    sometime.

Also the MAN around Portlaoise is finished about 6 weeks now.

The MAN is in a 17 mile radius of the town which is about
the distance we are from the town.

Isn't the point of the MAN's so that surrounding towns and
villages can connect into this network????

I have been told that this isn't possible but I think that that
    was bull.

Broadband in Durrow - you will be waiting!

The terrain here is fairly unsuitable for WiFi. Unless Digiweb put a mast on Ballymartin, then the prospects are bleak.

    Feic Sake Dan

You told me in an email ages ago that Digiweb was the only hope for
Durrow in the near future and now you say that there is nothing!!!

How are they going to get broadband to the School in Durrow?

Must say in Dublin as long as possible with my (future) uncapped
    connection with IBB. : )
