It's been open all the days so far this week but with tomorrow being Open Day I'm not sure whether or not it will be - that said I'm pretty sure it was on Open Day last year as I worked for the college on the day and think I received a free lunch there, could be mixing up memories though.

I'd guess it would be, cos exams are on this week.

OK. Thanks. I'll assume it's open. I hope the open day doesn't affect things, and I certainly hope the daltaí scoile don't descend on it.

i dont think michaelmas term like officially ends till ?friday? maybe (not too sure because well it has for me!) so id presume theyd keep the restaurants open till the end of the week anyway...what with the open day they might keep it open to make even more money from those extra ''daltai scoile'' around the place!

College is open until December 24 and won't reopen until January 5. In the meantime everything usually stays open - College ain't just for undergrads!

Oh god, if you ate the prospectus and the leaflets you get coming in front arch, you'd probably have a tastier (and more nutritious) meal than anything you'd get in the Buttery. Save your money.

Never went in today after all so it don't matter. But it's good to know it'll be open tomorrow though, when, honest to goodness, I will go in.

Not hard to beat the buttery on taste, polystyrene packing in boxes has more flavour.

Mmm, grade F meat. Horse testicles, plenty of iron. And green beans that are no longer green, but an odd shade of yellowy-brown!

I finally got to sample the Buttery vacation cuisine. It wasn't too hot - the mashed potato was a bit cold. It's also drab with fewer people around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

    that's not mashed potato buddy...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,095 ✭✭✭Chick

yeah what is it with the food being only tepid sometimes? only when its not busy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

It's a bold culinary statement made by the catering staff. Applying Dada principles to cookery in a hope to chart new taste territory. The avant garde has made its way to the kitchen.

Either that or they just plain suck at keeping food properly heated.
