    it's utter ****e..

..until the end when thom yorke comes in with the piano and the dinddingindingding ding thingy bits and then that tool from the darkness ruins it again.

    I always hated it.
It's simply on a different plane of awfulness now. Although I suppose I better give it a listen before I say that.
    Awful, awful song.

I dunno, I find the scene in the video where they're all gathered around a TV acting like they're moved by what they're seeing, to be amusing. Especially when you consider just how much these people are worth. They could wipe out a good chunk of world hunger just by reaching for their chequebooks, but they prefer to help in ways that allow them to keep their mansions. Namely by singing an awful song, and guilting people into buying it.

Ah bless, Barry really loves the celebrities.

To say they murdered it is putting it mildly.
It is complete ****e, but as someone said above, I'll buy it because it's for charity and it has the original version.

I think we're in agreement that Band Aid 20 sucks, but I think that's beside the point. The quality of the song is irrevelant. It's to raise A LOT of money for some of the poorest people in some of the worst situations in some of the most deprived places on Earth. That's objective No.1. If that's accomplished then good.No harm done. It's pathetic that a charity single is needed to help the situation in Africa. These people need help plain and simple. A few lowsy quid and the occasional radio play isn't much of a sacrifice considering what some people go through on a daily basis. Do some good. Buy the single no matter how bad it is.

I actually like it, although the prominent placement of Natasha Bedingfield in the video may have skewed my opinions. Anyway, it's only a bit of fun sure.

Oh, and all those of you with [strike]elitist[/strike] specialist ;) taste in music might have a giggle at this.

That's good. Though a better one for the metallica iPod might have been "Doesn't play mp3's" considering there lawsuit against napster....

Also, Band aid 2.0 sucks. But then again the first one wasn't a great song either. They should have just written a new one tbh...

didn't he get really pissed off cause Bono got to sing 'well tonight thank God its them instead of you' instead of him and Justin thought his version was much better than Bono's. I heard his version on MTV- it was painful

Pretty abysmal especially the rap. BBC program on making of it was good . And I've downloaded the bundle with both original and the latest from their web site. I couldn't buy it , just couldn't.

actually, i do like dizzee's bit. mainly because he's quite possibly the shizzlin'nest dood ever. but also because it's like the only part (lyricswise) that distinguishes it from the original.
