Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wireless Access Point for connecting from single pc?

    Hi,
    We've a computer upstairs in the house that we want to connect to the wireless network that's already set up.
    After reading up on it, it seems we can get either a card with an aerial that fits inside, or else a 'wireless access point'.

    Option (a) will seem to do the job and is cheaper, but...
    It seems the signal is usually stronger on an access point then the smaller cards. The computer is at the other side of the house and wedged under a table and inbetween some drawers. The laptop we use has a very poor signal in this room already.
    Also, I'd rather not open the computer and use another space for a card since there's not many free and we already have an ethernet card in.
    Plus, it means the access point could easily be moved elsewhere in the future.

    Obviously I seem more in favour of the access point, but somebody has already warned against it - saying it'll mess up everything and there's no benefit to it over the card.

    Any opinions on this? I'm presuming both options will do the job, but are any of my points completely wrong?
