I bought a DIY radial repair kit a few years ago and have fixed all the punctures I have gotten since then, problem is I only have one of the sticky string like things left and can't seem to track any more down on the net. Can't imagine any garage/tyre retailer would sell me any as it would be seen as competition for them.…

just get "seal a wheel" in ur car. never get puncture again.

As far as I know most garages cant stock these anymore as they were shown to be unsafe.

Dont use them.
