What is Star Gate Atlantis

    Hey I missed the whole begining of SGA, so I dont have a clue what it is about. Is it set in the future or what? Ive tried to watch it the last few weeks but I loose interest after a few mins, it doesnt seem to be as good as star gate, and from the brief parts that I saw, the charictors seem to be copied from Star Gate. Can someone just give me a quick break down so I can settle into it easily?

    Remember last season of sg1? with the artic anchient base/outpost.

    they used earths zpm (power node) to use the stargate to travel to the lost city of the anchients where they discoverd a dangerous aleins race that was either completley or atleat partly responsible for the defeat of the anchients. it sppears that 3 reasons caused anchient dissapearence

    1.A diezze
    2. Assention
    3.The Wraith

    They now inhabit the City of athlantis but they dont have enough power to get home so as far as earth is concerned its a lost expedation

    It is quite popular amoung SG fans i like it myself and they have been some very good episodes for detailed info on each epaiode read all the threads in this froums starting at the 1st episode

    Oh right, this is the stargate that was found in the artic? I thought the russians controled that. And wasnt the american stargate destroyed, and they then had to "Rent" the russian one with a dhd? Sorry for all the questions but I was out of the country for the last season!

    So how many sg teams were sent to atlantis? There seems to be alot of them based there, and the habitants of atlantis dont seem to be that advanced, how did they destroy such an advanced race as the ancients? It would of had to be accension right?

    There was no habitants in Atlantis when they got there. Read the forums, as there's alot of stuff to explain.
