What's the delay between connecting a phone line and activating broadband?

Does anyone know what the delay is between connecting a phone line and getting accurate results from the 'broadband line suitability' test on eircom.ie? Was told around a week from one of eircoms reps but I have a feeling this was a finger-in-the-wind estimate....
