Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In fairness, he makes a reasonable point (albeit somewhat American .. love and hugs etc.)

Owning or having access to a gun does not make someone a killer or make them want to kill.

I obviously don't think the internet is to blame. But I'd say it was a combination of other factors for those fked up kids in the states.

My main concern with the Net is the introversion and isolation it can breed.

But having access to a gun does make it a hell of alot easier!!

I definitly agree with you as regard the lack of contact that the net can cause. There are two ways of looking at this. The net certainly makes it easier for people who may not "fit in" to find people like themselves and this is a good thing. A bad side effect of this however is that if we only communicate with people similar to ourselves we lose the ability to appreciate other points of view. This could result in a very insular intolerence.

P.S. there was a good article in the Economist on this recently entitles 2what the internet cannot do"

What about China? Have you seen the great wall?

All walls are great if the roof doesn't fall!
