Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    From www.shelbournefc.ie
Shelbourne manager Pat Fenlon has placed centre-half Kevin Doherty on the transfer list.

Fenlon told ShelsWeb, "Kevin has been very unfortunate with injuries and he probably needs a change of clubs. We'd be sorry to lose him but it may be in his own best interest to regular football with another side."

Anyone any idea on what his potential fee could be? Presumably this will leave Shelbourne on the look out for another centre-half as they'll be quite short on defenders now after the earlier releases.

Also what're the odds on Doherty ending up at Bohs or Cork? Honestly I can see him going to somewhere like Longford though.

About €0 as they have listed him, no reason for him to leave for a fee if he doesnt want to as it will impact future wages. He should sit tight and force Shels to release him for free, decent player tho wouldnt mind him playing for Pats , be nice for a Shels player to play for us for a change ;)

But would imagine Bohs would get him decent replacment for Hawkins

I'm saddened by this, I really think Kev is a top defender. He has been very unlucky with injuries throughout his career, he was previously playing for Liverool and he broke his thigh bone, and he has not been the same since. It seems all he needs to do is look crooked at the ground and he gets injured.

I don't know if an eL manager would take the chance, especially not Johnny Mac, remember he was Shels assistant before he took over at Pat's.

He had the chance to go on loan to Glentoran for the remainder of their season, but both he and Fenlon declined the offer, I find it strange that he is now listed. Perhaps Fenlon has lined up another centre half?

Anyway, good luck to Kev Doherty, and I hope he finds a decent club.

I hope you are not including Davey Scouse in that trio.

Fair enough, Jamie Harris is one of the best in the league, no doubt about that. Hawkins blows hot and cold.

Great player. I just hope Dolan makes an effort to sign him, as its the one real position where City are lacking.

Unlucky with the injuries but I'd say he will pick up a club soon enough. We have enough cover there so I'm not so worried :)

IMO, when fit and on form he's the best centre half we have, but if he's constantly injured (And he is) what good is it? I'll be gutted to see him go, espically if he goes to the big feeder club and plays to his best consistently for a season, he'd more than replace Hawkins. He'd be a superb signing for any team in the league if they can get the best out of him but it depends on who's willing to take the gamble on someone as injury prone as him.

It's unfortunate for him though, if he wasn't so injury prone he'd probably still be at Liverpool, I know Houllier really rated him very highly.
