Macros in Outlook 2003?

    Howdy,
Anyone know where I could get myself a primer on Outlook 2003 macros?

Or even gimme a hand. Basically, I want to create a macro that moves a selected mail into a certain folder. It's probably easy, and there are loads of examples on the web. The only thing they don't give is how to move mails in Personal Folders. VB looks bloated and stupid, it makes some sense to me, but I wouldn't know how to go about modifying the scripts....

    Anyone?

You can create your own rules in Outlook to examine mails on the way in (e.g. to specific people, contains words in subject ot body) and move them to folders.

In Outlook on the menu select Tools > Rules and Alerts then select the E-mail Rules tab and click on New Rule

Tis a rule on outgoing mails I'm trying to create actually, but nicely spotted ;).

Outlook 2003 lets you automatically copy sent items to another folder, but it doesn't let you automatically move them. I have a guy who's too lazy to empty his sent items periodically, and just wants to move them to a pst automatically.

    Tools > Options >

On Preferences tab select E-mail Options and then unclick Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder

Then set up rule to copy the outoing mail to another personal folder

    You sir, are a genius.

This is one of those cases where my logical mind misses that. I assumed that since it wouldn't be saving the mail to the Sent Items, then there wouldn't be a mail to copy to the personal folder.

    Cheers.
