This is my last visit I think before the turkey and ham binge. Anyone else going along fancy having a quick christmas drink beforehand?

Fill us in, we haven't had a bad beat story in a while :) Were there many playing. I am thinking of going tonight after my abysmal showing in the merrion on Tues night. Might you I could be well on it by 9 so it may be a bad idea.

No real bad beats, just a few unlucky out draws, a case of the tilts and some bad decisions. In fact everything I did last night transpired to be "the wrong thing". Everyone was a pip ahead of me last night both in terms of cards and play. Fun table though, I was sorry leaving it because it was good crack (not to mention that I had the maximum rebuys and went out about 10 hands after the break!).

It was a very good tournament with a lot of new faces for me.

My first table (5) was some table - Austin, guy in arm cast, Jim, NI fella, Eddie (asian guy), Paddy, Hussein, Vincent and English guy (bald with glasses) and eventual chip leader sitting down to final table (long straight hair with glasses). Mad.

    All good fun.

Anyone know the final result as I presume Oscar, who started dealing the final table, will still be in bed.

Poxy 11th place. Very annoying. Raised with pocket 8s. Was re-raised all-in and lost out to pocket Jacks. I should have let the 8s go.

Well the other side of that is I let pocket 9s go last week and the house come up.... sometimes you just cant get a call right.

well that depends: if you were behind a bigger pocket pair with your nines then it doesn't matter what came up, unless you were getting pot odds of almost 4:1 then you were right to fold. i laid down nines in the last hand for rebuys in one of the freebies last week in the face of three all-ins (for less than my stack). I was annoyed to see the case nine on the flop (other hands were K-9, T-T and K-J), but it was the right lay-down before the flop.

**comes out the other side of Christmas timewarp**
Cheers Pammy & Bohsman! yeah 5th >€300 not bad and prob about as good as i could have done, was shortstacked on the final 2 tables and had to play top drawer poker to survive and work around my (always) short stack.

The swines! splitin it 4ways after i go out, LOL only j/k their choice and it was gettin to 3o'c(maybe even after). Suprised that they didnt battle it out,(from vague mem 1st was €2400 2nd 1600 3rd 800 5th 500(dont shoot me if that doesnt add up)
The four guys were broken arm guy(who had jus been in a writeoff car accident on the quays -guy ran a red and tboned him) Massive chip leader (was playin in some pain) Monaghan guy nice older/veteran player, a narkey guy and a young lad with sraight black hair, (that at one stage was way out ahead on chips on the final table)

Went out on J8diamonds(appox 20,000) against A9os(100000+)Arm in sling guys goes all in, me calls preflop, nothing hits, Ace high won it (yeah i know flush draw nutter)

Great night, Muso was goin gr8 on the other 2nd final table at one stage (he had way more chips than me hard luck Muso)
