Ok I decided that this needed its own topic.

I have been using ripwave since october and my
    installation was free.

I ordered breeze lite about a week ago and the installation
    is free also.

It is definately true and i spoke to the sales people on the phone
about it. All i needed to do was to send a photocopy of my student
card to prove that I was in college and thats it.

    Free installation. :D

It makes the **** ripwave service a bit more bearable.

The funny thing is that I dont even remember telling
them that I was a student when I was ordering Ripwave!

They rang me due to a problem with my credit card and
I said to him that there should be enough money for the
installation and 1 months rental but then the guy said
" oh the installation is free for students " .

    I couldn't believe it.
    They should advertise that! :D

I'm a student too. Would they give me a rebate on my ripwave isntallation cost if I asked?

My primary concern at the moment is getting a working service however. I have been without any internet access for two weeks because I am awaiting a replacement ripwave modem. Unfortunetely they did not deliver it on the day they said they would and I cannot get through to their customer support today.

More frustrating still, they promsied my flatmate no charge for January because of this problem, yet today I received an email invoice for January.

If I had any alternative I would have left this company a long time ago.

I dont know about a Rebate, the only way you can find out that is by
    giving them a call.

When I was having problems with my connection they wanted to send
me a replacement modem too but I knew that this was a pointless
action as the reception was simply crap and a new modem wouldnt
    have made a difference.

I have already ordered breeze and I'm getting rid of ****e Ripwave as
    soon as I can. :p

Our connection was OK until it went down completely two weeks ago. From what I can gather, it is something to do with them updating the firmware but ours not being updated. Im not 100% sure tho. Breeze is not an option for me for various reasons.

Their support told me yesterday that students from certain colleges get free installation. They said I had to contact their sales department to find out if my college was covered.
