Thinking of getting BFG 6600 GT OC in pc world, as I don't have a credit card, so can't get anything on the net, since its only 128meg am I nuts to pay 270 plus for it, or all things considered is it my best choice...
since theres nothing but 9600 xt's and other kinda lame ass stuff on offer,

System:
2.4G P4
768 mb 2100 ram
64megs crappy integrated graphics

What I'm looking for is optimal HL2 play and FFxi

I personnally think it's a bit OTT for your specs and a 9800pro would suffice for sure... you could prob pick one up on boards for a lower price or else shop around online, borrow a CC, i can't understand how people who have cash to hand over can't just hand the cash to a mate/family member/some1 with a CC and order away

lol I can hand over cash to family member, but already tried a few times and its always like yea when i clear up my cc, but apparently some ppls cc are always ****ed so they can't afford to let someone else have a ride on it,

Anyway you really think its too over powered for it, but is it not a good thing to get a card i could throw in a new system in a couple a months if i wanted...

Its just that this is convenient and stuff heheh

i built 2 pcs for 2 mates a while back..1 was HL2 mad and he got a 9600xt with the free voucher and the other 1 went for "higher numbers the better" and got a 9800SE (i had no say on this they had already bought the parts and then asked me to build em)

well after setting em up i left em to it ..and i hear that they are pretty much on par with the 9600xt sometimes out performing it

i havent read all the thread but i would say NO to an SE and go try getting that 6600 if you can..it may be too fast for your system but it will run as fast as it can on your machine making it the best possible and will still fly some more when u upgrade the rest

I think you can get the same graphics card on tekheads.co.uk for about £10 cheaper. I was going to order from Overclockers, but I've heard some horror stories about them, and I'm not using my credit card, I had to get a lend of one so I dont want any trouble. After what I've read about Overclockers, and now the fact that they're not taking emails, I think I'll go with Tekheads.

I have used overclockers before and had no porblems, tekheads price and delivery is cheaper than overclockers. £10 = €14 thats a good saveing better in my pocket than theres. has anybody used tekheads before and can vouch for it?
