Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Funnily enough I have the soundtrack playing right now. Sweet Home Chicago atm...

I got mine from Movie Magic in drumcondra (not ex-rental) and I saw it in Movie Magic on Parnell St. in Dublin recently for about 12 quid or so. Not guaranteeing it'll still be there but if you're around.

Haven't seen Blues Brothers 2000 on sale anywhere but I reckin you're better off...

Have to say (pure gold soundtrack aside) that this film is garbage. One of the unfunniest most overrated cult 'classics' of all time.

In an interview with John Landis in this month's Hotdog, he says that he even thinks that the soundtrack of the second one is way better, in spite of the fact that he hates the movie.

Errr the 2nd one is a steaming pile of dogsh!te in comparison to the original. In reality they shouldn't have made the 2nd one (althou the soundtrack is good).

The first however is a classic and a favourite film of mine.

I got the two from Australia in double disk boxset which unfortunately is unavailable now (I checked for ya!).

I would expect Blues Brothers to be released again in some sort of special edition as it will sell.

well, tbh.. both films are utter ****e!! they're only good because of the soundtracks!

I never bothered going to see or renting out the second one. Even though I'm a John Goodman fan, how can it be anywhere near as good as the original without John Belushi?

As for the music, the soundtrack from the first fiolm is one of my absolute favourites. For die-hard fans this DVD is interesting, but not quite the classic I'd hoped for.

Just checked on Sendit.com (formerly Blackstar) and it lists the DVD of the original film as having been deleted.

the first film is a classic, the second one was tripe.... personally i prefer the music from the time of the first film when the actual band did tour and play several shows in the states and you can get a double live album of this and if your only after the music thats what i'd recommend.
